Web Series Synopsis:
Super Trill follows Jamal and Marquis, two African-American teenage boys in high school, who experience adventures of carelessness and raging hormones in suburban America. Marquis seeks to find acceptance beyond being the token black guy while attempting to find meaning in his black masculinity which he doesn’t fully yet understand. Jamal is focused and has two purposes in life, manage to get a girlfriend before he’s 18 and make it into an Ivy League college, often getting sidetracked into the crazy antics of his best friend, Marquis. One thing both boys can’t escape is the realization that they are black living in a world surrounded by nothing but whiteness.
[Marquis] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: Late Teens]
A student that tries his hardest to act “BLACK” something that proves to be unnatural. He’s extremely outspoken and tries his best to be cool even though deep down he’s just a nerd. Focused on finding a girl to bang or practicing his pick-up lines, Marquis is truly the definition of lame. He’s the primary reason for all the trouble that seems to find him and Jamal. HE often gets angry when people refer to him as the fat one when referring to the only black kids at school.
[Jamal] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: Late Teens]
An ambitious student focused on making it out of High School despite the odds stacked against him. Jamal is a nice and awkward kid. Jamal and Marquis are the opposite of popular, which Marquis blames mostly on Jamal because they aren’t “Black enough”. High School has proven to be a pretty miserable experience. All he has to look forward to are the wild antics of his best friend and following a girl that barely gives him the time of day.
[Young Marquis] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 8-12]
Being a young black boy who just moved to the suburbs can be an awkward and difficult situation. Young Marquis is a little boy who is in desperate need of friends often finding one’s who lead by the wrong examples. Finds himself in situations that result in his mother having to show out.
[Ms. Jones] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: Late 30s]
A black mother who is the definition of rowdy and in your face. She doesn’t have the time to play around with her son Marquis who often makes the wrong mistakes. She will let you know how it is, and she never bites her tongue.
[Bobby Felder] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 8-12]
A spoiled little brat who teaches Young Marquis a thing or two about how to make his mom’s life a miserable hell.
[Mrs. Felder] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: Mid 20’s]
Mrs. Felder is a friendly white woman who spoils her youngest son Bobby. The typical stay at home, suburban type of mother.
